Night Out

Ok, so I know I haven't updated in a while. And yes, I have to update the "Song of the Week." Maybe I'll just all it the song of the semester and be set.

Last Saturday a bunch of us went into Baltimore to Howl at the Moon Cafe and The Lodge. I had never been to Howl at the Moon and was expecting more of a Karaoke bar. It is actually two people playing pianos for requests. Thing was you had to give them a "donation" to play a song. Most people were throwing 20s like it was nothing. So, as you can imagine, we didn't request anything.

The drinks were pretty good there. As you can see in the picture here, I was having a screwdriver. That was after I asked for a Purple Mother, and got something blue and sweet. The fact that it was BLUE should have been his first tip that he made it wrong.

Later on this huge guy came up to the pianos to sing a song. They said his name was Tiny, and I was thinking that he was gonna sound terrible. He was actually awesome, he was better than the people singing at the piano.

The next place was The Lodge, we made it over there around 1am or so. This place was pretty cool. It was made up like a ski lodge and skis on the wall and everything was made out of logs and stuff.

The bartender, although better looking, was still a disappointment. When I asked for a Purple Mother there, she just asked what the hell is that. Yeah, they need to learn their drinks at Powerplant.

The band was much more entertaining though. They were called Mission 19 and played a pretty good mix of music. They even played some Mraz, and it wasn't The Remedy.

After there we went back to Jade's (Josh's girlfriend) school. There I was Josh, Jade, Alli (Jade's friend) and me. We had another round and a few ghost stories before we crashed. All in all it was a good evening out. Posted by Picasa

The Summer

Yeah, so as some of you might have noticed I didn't quite manage to keep up with posting over the summer, or even get 1 post. But I'll try to sum up what happened.

Well, after classes were over on the 25th of May, I started my Calc class on the following Monday. After 6 weeks of that I managed to pull out a 'C' that I needed for the class (that I was ecstatic to get) and then started another 6 week class that following Monday. This class was just something stupid for my major, but Josh was in the class so that made it a little less painful.

During one week of that class was my yearly O.C. Trip, no not THE OC, just O.C. Maryland. Anyhow, I couldn't miss any of these classes cause my Prof was a goon, so I had to make the hike back and forth.

O.C. was pretty good. It was my first year there being 21 so I made it to Secrets and The Purple Moose. All-in-all it was pretty good. Ryan came down for a few days and hung out, got to check out the girls and stuff.

When I got back, Finished up the class, had a whopping week off and then had to come back to school. But, coming back to school is something that I had been waiting for all summer so It was totally worth it.

Now we are all moved in, pretty much, and ready for a good academic semester. Yeah, I couldn't say that without laughing either.

Awesome 21st Birthday

As many of you know, yesterday was my big 21. Well, when I started to write this it was yesterday, but I waited on my suit-mate to give me a picture before I posted and he never got it to me. But I regress.

My day was pretty good, when I was at lunch I got a call from mom that she was here at school and had something for me. I meet her and dad outside my dorm and they had a HUGE sheet cake for me. It worked out great because we had a floor meeting about moving out and I would be able to get rid of some of my cake.

Later that evening Josh and I drove out to Olive Garden in Columbia and meet my family for some dinner. We went back to the house for some cake and gifts and stuff. The most awesome gift was my new monitor, 20" Widescreen Apple LCD.

When we got back to the dorm, we had the floor meeting and had some cake. A little after that, my whole suite went to Lucille's at Power Plant in Baltimore. That was great. Nothing too crazy, a few shots from the bar. Defiantly got a little drunk, but not too nuts, it was worth going out though.

When we got back, I IMed just about everyone on my buddy list and left a note for my RA underneath here door, haha.

All in all, I had a great time. Thanks to everyone.

Quadmania, or lack there of

So yeah, what a crappy day we had for Quadmania. In the morning Josh and I planned on meeting our group members to work on this HUGE project that we have due on Thursday. We meet a little after noon and had to keep working straight through till 7:00 at night. I was happy because it gave us a good reason to order pizza in that is always good.

After our group member left, the one who didn't cop-out cause he was "sick", we decided to try to make it to the rest of Quadmania since the rain seemed to be letting up. So, we walked down to the Quad and wouldn't you know it, they had everything packed up already. It was just too bad that I had already bought my ticket the day before or I wouldn't have cared as much.

So after all that we just came back to the room and decided it was time to eat and get some more work done. Ann went with us to dinner and then came back to the room to work on her paper. Then she got a call that there was a party thing over at the Erickson lobby, so we went over there to hang out. Then we went up to Elena's place and watched Singing in the Rain, which I hadn't seen in a long time so that was fun.

After all that was over, we finally got back to the room and got to bed. So even though we missed out on Quadmania, I guess the day wasn't a total bust.

Ah the Theatre

Finally, I was able to go out one nite and get a little bit of culture other then the movies that I have been Netflixing. I went with my friend Ann to go see Billy's Much Ado about Nothing. It was put on my the theatre department here at UMBC and I must say that it was great. There were a couple of friends that I had in the show and they were awesome too. This was the first show that I saw here at UMBC and if this is as good as the other pieces that I didn't go see, then I sure missed out.

Songs of the Week

So Josh, my roommate, came up with a great idea of having a song of the week. If you didn't notice already, there is a song on the right side of this window that you can play. If you can't see the song, well then you just aren't special enough to listen to my song of the week. Or, you can just go to apple's site and download QuickTime.

So to start things off, this week I will be sharing with you a song by someone I recently have become interested in, Jack Johnson. This song is called Better Together and it is from his newest album entitled In Between Dreams.

All Things Change

I finally caved and decide to set up a Blog. Who knows if anyone will ever actually read this, but it is fun none-the-less.

For those of you who aren't up to date with what is going on in my life, I'll try to fill you in real quick. A lot has changed since last semester. I have a new roommate I have a lot more in common with, no offence Ju if you read this.

Also, I don't work at Best Buy anymore, I have a new job here at UMBC with the RAC (Retriever Activity Center). Pretty much all I do is sell tickets for the sports games here.

And lastly, I'll spare you the details, but I am single now. For whatever that is worth. Sometimes things all see to change at the same time. I'm sure that it is all for the best though.
